The sun raises over the horizon
And the world is warm and calm
It's rays reaches across the valleys
Across the mountains, beaches, and seas.
But deep in the forest where shadow rules all
Is where the sun cannot lie
It is moist and deep
And dark within too
It is cooler and more silent than a tomb

Leaves and twigs lay upon the ground
Like discarded bones from a near grave
To step on one makes a gunshot sound loud
All creatures will scurry away
While you think you walk alone through the trees
But I am watching
But I am waiting
You hear a rustle in the trees
"It's the wind," you say
But I be the air and the wind you breathe

The sun raises high
And the shadows are more defined
One flies quickly through your sight
"It's the leaves," you whisper
But I be the leaves and trees that surround you
You walk a little faster

Animals are going about their business
There are birds flying in the sky
There is a whistle that make your ears twitch
"It's the birds calling," you speak
But I be the birds calling to you

It's getting darker
The sun is moving down
You feel the wind upon your back
You feel a leaf skim your shoulder
As a shiver goes down your spine
You hear a whistle in your ear and you bolt
You fear to look behind
