Slipping away from reality
Unable to hold to hope
Ripping apart the thought
Frustration pulsing through my brain
This is not where Im supposed to be.
Rapid dreams that remain unclear
A consent whispering in my ear
Tapping of pain on my temple
None of this makes any sense
Is this where Im supposed to be?
Ashy lips pressed to mine
Cold feelings pulse through me
Silence to where my heart beats
Lust that eats away at love
This is not where Im supposed to be
Sorrow crawling at me from all sides
Replacing sight with blank stares
Surprises of life no longer mystery
Needs of a beast finally bare
Is this where Im supposed to be?
Future no longer promised
Today becoming regret
Like in Vegas another bet
Satisfying is never known
This is not where Im supposed to be
Decaying and faithless insides
Finding truth in my own lies
Wounds reopened and satirized
Memories erased never to see
Is this where Im supposed to be?

Immature love says "I love you because I need you",
Mature love says "I need you because I love you". - Erich Fromm

Life goes on whether you are ugly, loved, beautiful, or unloved. It's not what you are but who you are in life that matters.
I can relate to this poem because I understand that confusion. Sometimes, wondering about if we are where we're supposed to be in life can be a lingering concern.
